Geoff and I are HUGE fans of the
great food trucks on the streets of Vancouver!
It's always nice to be able to
grab a quick, really tasty(and often quite interesting ;-) street bite at reasonable prices!
Vancouver's done a great job introducing these "Food Trucks" over the past few years!
But, how about applying that
same model to discovering art?!
Well, the New York Times just published an
interesting article about the "emerging" trend of "Art Trucks".
Here's an interesting quote from the article:
In interviews, mobile owners say they are trying to avoid the confines — and politics — of the gallery system; to help people think about art in different ways; or to reach more communities, especially those with young and old people who tend not to visit art districts.
What do you think?! Would you be interested in
having your artwork sold via these mobile galleries? And, do you think this is
an interesting twist on the gallery model?
Well, here are a few
more photos of some art trucks (just click on the images for more details ...)
And, while we always like to think that this is a new idea,
clearly it's been done before ;-)
We'd love to hear your thoughts! ;-)
