I am so very excited to invite you all to my very first solo art show opening!!
It will be a collection of art in a few different mediums including acrylics, oils, collage, encaustic and glass in resin. I named my show "The Sky's The Limit". I love painting skies, that's true, but I also want to reach for the sky and keep improving as an artist. I would love to see you all there on Friday Sept 5, from 6pm to 8.30pm

Beautiful local plein air works! I will have an oil painting in this show.

We are excited to announce that Old Santee Canal Park will be hosting our Members Exhibition this year from September 8, 2025 through September 28, 2025. The format is somewhat different from prior years as PSSC will be hosting a luncheon, demo, and workshop on September 13, 2025 in conjunction with our awards presentation. More details on the workshop will be made available in the near future.

A group exhibition of artists connected to Wolfe Island and the surrounding area of the other islands. A wide variety of imagery, media and artistic approaches is presented.

Inspired by Wendell Berry's poem, The Peace of Wild Things, Artessa Alliance presents a collection of works that explores the intersection of nature, tranquility, and the human spirit.

Highlights of the exhibition include a meditative installation focused on resilience, and works that explore the intricate web of life, creating a dynamic interplay alongside the diverse elements of our ecosystem and environment.

The Opening Reception is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and experience an evening that promises an inspiring atmosphere for art lovers, collectors, and anyone seeking a moment of peace through creativity.

Two artists of the bricolage tradition invite visitors to eavesdrop on our visual conversation (augmented with some whimsical “faux”punctuation).

As makers we speak through the objects we create and often in the making, the work shifts direction. Our collaboration offers a visual call and response realized through careful attention to each others language and meaning. We encourage the viewer to join us in considering all the aspects of our installation: the individual works, their juxtaposition and placement, as well as the work in its entirety shaped for the gallery space.

In our era of siloed communication, we need to listen to one another’s divergent ideas in life as well as art. “A Conversation” demonstrates clearly that dialogue is always larger than the sum of its parts.

The City of Florence has eight Art Exposed locations in the Old Town area: Veterans Memorial Park, River Roasters, Rain Garden, Interpretive Center East, Gazebo Park Plaza, Secret Garden, Maple Street Park, and Florence Area Chamber of Commerce Lawn.

Judith is interested in the potential for interactions between Art and Science. She and partner Mike enthusiastically support the endeavors of the Perimeter Institute, Waterloo, Ontario. Eight of Judith's paintings have been accepted into the Perimeter Institute's art collection and installed in various venues within the Perimeter.

This will be the 9th year in Sherwood Park, for this wonderful event where many artists open their doors to share their art creations, process and answer any questions you may have.

Doors are open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21.

My guest artist is Arlene Bowles, she will be showing her lovely collection of silver hand made jewelry.

2025 will be the 13th year of our fundraising event, ArtSquared! Each year we have artists from across the country create 6X6 pieces of art to be sold at $36 a piece. Most participating artists take home $24 of each piece sold and ArtWalla keeps the other $12, some of our wonderful artists choose to donate 100% of the proceeds to ArtWalla. We use ArtSquared to fund our grant programs helping local artists and arts organizations spread art within our community.

I have four paintings entered in this show, which you will be able to visit in the beautiful surroundings of Algonquin Park. The Visitor Centre is located in the Park, at Km 43.0 on Highway 60

I will once again be showing new work at Riverdale Art 2025, the 35th Annual Art Show and Sale at St. Barnabas Church. The church is at 361 Danforth Avenue in Toronto, at Chester subway station. Entrance to the show is round the corner on Hampton Avenue. The show will take place on Friday, 26 September 2025 (6 to 9 p.m.), Saturday, 27 September (11 am to 5 pm) and Sunday, 28 September (noon to 5 pm). Admission is free.

There will be an opening reception on Friday evening.

Picture this! Two local writers share how words become pictures and pictures become words.

Join writer and fine artist, Andrea K. Lawson, and local author, Rich Voorhees, for a lively discussion of their experience creating illustrated books—books that combine words and pictures, description and depiction, poetry and painting. Audience participation will be most welcome.

Among the topics they plan to raise:

• Are illustrated books—as opposed to graphic novels—strictly for kids?
• Do illustrations add or detract from a grown-up reader’s experience?
• Do they fuel our imagination? Or do they somehow limit it?
• What are people’s favorite illustrated books and why?
• Would James Thurber’s stories be the same without his cartoons?
• Would The Little Prince have the same charm without the author’s drawings?
• For the presenters, looking back, where did the germs of their ideas come from? Which came first, the words or the images?

Lawson will read and share illustrations from her latest work-in-progress. And Voorhees will be signing copies of his new book, The $22.50 Man, which includes a score of his watercolors. This event promises to be loads of fun for book lovers as well as for anyone who’s ever thought of creating an illustrated work.

This year’s Parallel Art Show opens at ArtSpring on September 28, and runs until October 19, showing concurrently with the SSNAP Finalist Exhibition at Mahon Hall and the new SSNAP Youth Exhibition in the Mahon Hall Annex. Together, these exhibitions form a multi-venue celebration of artistic excellence on Salt Spring Island.

This exhibition will feature a number of my geometric compositions, including examples from my Living With Cancer Series; some of my responses to the dire situation our world is in just now; and a few more whimsical, light-hearted pieces to remind us that all is not - and must not be - lost.

For those who might want to know more specifically what was on my mind mind as I created any given painting, a small binder with my comments about the works on display will be available.

Arts West Council and Carberry Plains Arts Council invite you to unlock your creativity with our 2-Day Workshop with instructor Leona Herzog. Bring life and movement to your botanical watercolours by creating depth. Learn how colour choice and tonal value can add volume to your leaves and petals, and how it can be used to impact the illusion of distance in a composition.

Leona Herzog’s art practice focuses on botanical watercolours and fibres. She has studied with a variety of teachers including Winnipeg watercolour painter Jill Brooks, as well as further afield. To focus on botanicals, she has trained at Kew Gardens, England with Lucy Smith who illustrates many of their plants.

Some experience with watercolour is recommended, but this workshop will benefit artists at every level.

Date: Saturday and Sunday November 1 and 2, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch (12-1pm)
Location: Carberry-North Cypress Centennial Drop-in Center, 132 Main St., Carberry MB
Fee: $100 (supplies are not included) - Space is limited to the first fully paid 16 registrations.

A supplies list will be provided on receiving your payment, also it is recommended you bring a brown-bag lunch so that instruction can resume promptly at 1pm.
